My house, my gate

Hubby is away for a couple of days.

I’m staying at my mom’s.

My poor guppy fish family has nobody to feed them for 2 days.

My three pots of plants have no one to water them. Worst still, they have to endure a dusty environment as a result of the construction going on in my front yard.

When I go home tomorrow night, there will be no gate to open as it would have been removed by now.

And we will continue to stay in a gate-less house for another week or so. That’s kind of weird…

In my wish list – ASUS Eee PC 1000HE

Went to the Digital Mall at Section 14 last week because hubby needed to get a battery for his HP iPAQ PDA phone (used to be mine, hehe), a phone charger, and a laser pointer to be used during a presentation. Wanted to go earlier but was postponed due to the collapse of the ex-Jaya Supermarket building.

Thanks to the trip, I now found the next dream gadget to get my hands on – ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. 😛

Although I have been banking on the idea of getting a new laptop, mini laptops or netbooks never came across my mind until I saw it in one of the shops in Digital Mall. I was first looking at a pink Sony Vaio, which cost around RM3,300. Knowing that is not a price that I can afford, still I pretended to be interested and asked the sales personnel some questions, haha!

Then as I walked around the shop, eventually several small laptops got my attention. There were a couple of models from ASUS Eee PC range, but  ASUS Eee PC 1000HE was the one that I am interested in the most, mainly due to its 9.5 hours battery life. Hence the tagline “One Day Computing”. Although it is a mini laptop, it has a large hard disk storage of 160 GB, plus a 10 GB online storage. That’s so much more space compared to this laptop I’m using! Light weight, nice keyboard, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions, this netbook is perfect for a lady who always suffer from shoulder ache carrying a heavy laptop. 😉 There is no CD driver though.

I don’t know if this is the best netbook to get, coz there are other mini laptops from HP and Acer as well. Guess I just have to check out netbook reviews on the internet. Then, I will see where on earth to add RM1599 into my pocket… 😛

Auto gate and construction happening soon

Finally, after moving into our house for more than half a year, we are going to have an auto gate system installed.

Hubby received his performance bonus last month, it’s quite a sum I would say. But before we can plan doing or buying anything nice for ourselves (so sad…), hubby has allocated the money towards remodeling our front yard.

The money is going to be spent on getting an auto gate, some construction work to ‘switch’ the position of the gate and the mailbox, have the floor fully filled up with tiles, and build brick fences on both sides.

The ‘switching’ part is for the sake of feng shui, la. 😉 Before we moved into this house, we actually had a feng shui master ‘reviewed’ our house. We are glad to know that the overall feng shui of our house is quite good, but in order to ‘welcome’ the goodness and prosperity that is coming from a hill located northwest to our house, having the gate and our main entrance on the left side will allow the ‘ong’ to flow in smoother and more easily.

For this reason, we are using the sliding glass door as the entrance into our home, but we have been delaying the gate section due to lack of budget. Since we have the budget now, we’d better get it done before the money is spent elsewhere! Nowadays hubby is more keen to get our house feng shui right than to buy a pair of Hush Puppies leather shoes that he has drooled over for a long time. 😛
