My new gadget – ASUS Eee PC 1005HA netbook

Yay! Got my new netbook – ASUS Eee PC 1005HA – during the PC Fair at KLCC Convention Centre last Friday!

Last year, I swore to myself that I would never go to PC Fair anymore because I don’t want to be squeezed and pushed among the massive crowd. Guess I had to swallow my own words. This year, I visited the PC Fair again because I wanted to get my netbook. 😛

Well, I didn’t actually get the one I said I wanted earlier (ASUS Eee PC 1000HE). I went to a shop in MidValley last Thursday with the intention of bringing home an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. However, the salesman told me that the model was sold out and won’t be produced again. Instead, there would be this latest model making its debut on the following day – that’s Friday – at the PC Fair 2009. A model that is slimmer, lighter and boasting a longer battery life of 10.5 hours – ASUS Eee PC 1005HA!

White, shiny surface on the outside. I have already stick a pink checkers laptop skin on it…

Need to charge the netbook’s battery for at least 8 hours before using…

The shop won’t be selling the model until one week later, so if I wanted to get it fast, I had to go get it at PC Fair! Moreover, the netbook was selling at a RM100 cheaper price at the fair (RM1,499 vs RM1,599 retail price), and no additional bank charges would be imposed on a credit card purchase (vs a 3-4% bank charges if bought with credit card at the shop).

You see, I’m a gal who is more willing to spend on gadgets than on clothes and shoes. 😛 So off I went to the PC Fair, took the train to KLCC in the morning, waited for one hour outside the convention centre, all for the sake of ASUS Eee PC 1005HA. Haha! Perhaps it was the first day of the PC fair, and I went early, the crowd wasn’t so bad after all. Managed to buy even a 320 GB external hard disk, laptop skins for my old laptop (which the ownership will be passed on to my hubby, hehe) and new netbook, a new pink-colored mini mouse, and a keyboard protector. Oh, also got some freebies as well. Simply put, a very rewarding day, haha!

I’m now still in the process of familiarizing myself with my belove new netbook and installing the necessary softwares. Have quite a lot of file transferring work to do before I officially handover my old laptop to hubby. 😀

Awana Kijal resort, here I come!

My Malaysia east coast beach holiday is commencing tomorrow! Thought I would just update this blog before I go off. :)

Well, I will be not be exactly at the beach tomorrow yet. Hubby is visiting his branch office in Kuantan tomorrow, so I will be chilling out on my own while he’s busy with work. Our sunny Malaysia beach holiday will start this Thursday at one of the best beach resorts in Malaysia – Awana Kijal Golf and Beach Resort, Terengganu.

What are we going to do during this short 3 days 2 nights stay at Awana Kijal beach hotel? I don’t think we will leave the resort except for lunch and dinner. Yeah, a seafood expedition you may call it. 😛

Activities that we plan to do there are: playing table tennis and pool games, swinging at their driving range, sipping beer at the bar by the beach, watching the sunset, getting ourselves wet at the jacuzzi, and perhaps a body massage or two (depending on the price, hehe). I hope we’ll get a room with a nice sea view.

Will try to take many photos, if I remember that is, haha! When I come back, I will let you know if Awana Kijal resort is one of the best Malaysia beach hotels to stay. :)

Gate-less

I felt like I was living in one of the safe and peaceful neighborhoods in the US, because my house is literally gate-less! The front yard is wide open! No gate! 😛

The construction work commenced last Tuesday, and will be completed this week. Well, it could have progressed in a faster pace actually, but contractors are contractors…

We now have two bricked walls to replace our wired fences, but some painting work is needed to finish it up.

The left and right pillars for the gate to attach on are done as well, waiting to be painted.

The floor is fully tiled now, although the color of the new tiles is different from the original one.

It’s kinda funny, you know. Hubby and I had been very busy for the past week. I was never at home too. So, till today, we have never met the workers since the first day! 😛

Today I’m at home, but the workers didn’t come to work! Ha! Thought I could see them do some painting, or deliver my new gate at least. But…

Only after the new gate is installed, hubby’s friend will install the automatic gate device for us. Then, we can consider our front yard done. No more remodeling or whatsoever in the near future. Unless we want to go a step further to install some video surveillance system.

But we’re not living in a bungalow or mansion, I think hubby would rather get a German Shepherd dog than to spend on a digital surveillance video. 😛
