Yay! Got my new netbook – ASUS Eee PC 1005HA – during the PC Fair at KLCC Convention Centre last Friday!
Last year, I swore to myself that I would never go to PC Fair anymore because I don’t want to be squeezed and pushed among the massive crowd. Guess I had to swallow my own words. This year, I visited the PC Fair again because I wanted to get my netbook. 😛
Well, I didn’t actually get the one I said I wanted earlier (ASUS Eee PC 1000HE). I went to a shop in MidValley last Thursday with the intention of bringing home an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. However, the salesman told me that the model was sold out and won’t be produced again. Instead, there would be this latest model making its debut on the following day – that’s Friday – at the PC Fair 2009. A model that is slimmer, lighter and boasting a longer battery life of 10.5 hours – ASUS Eee PC 1005HA!
White, shiny surface on the outside. I have already stick a pink checkers laptop skin on it…
Need to charge the netbook’s battery for at least 8 hours before using…
The shop won’t be selling the model until one week later, so if I wanted to get it fast, I had to go get it at PC Fair! Moreover, the netbook was selling at a RM100 cheaper price at the fair (RM1,499 vs RM1,599 retail price), and no additional bank charges would be imposed on a credit card purchase (vs a 3-4% bank charges if bought with credit card at the shop).
You see, I’m a gal who is more willing to spend on gadgets than on clothes and shoes. 😛 So off I went to the PC Fair, took the train to KLCC in the morning, waited for one hour outside the convention centre, all for the sake of ASUS Eee PC 1005HA. Haha! Perhaps it was the first day of the PC fair, and I went early, the crowd wasn’t so bad after all. Managed to buy even a 320 GB external hard disk, laptop skins for my old laptop (which the ownership will be passed on to my hubby, hehe) and new netbook, a new pink-colored mini mouse, and a keyboard protector. Oh, also got some freebies as well. Simply put, a very rewarding day, haha!
I’m now still in the process of familiarizing myself with my belove new netbook and installing the necessary softwares. Have quite a lot of file transferring work to do before I officially handover my old laptop to hubby. 😀
