I felt like I was living in one of the safe and peaceful neighborhoods in the US, because my house is literally gate-less! The front yard is wide open! No gate! 😛
The construction work commenced last Tuesday, and will be completed this week. Well, it could have progressed in a faster pace actually, but contractors are contractors…
We now have two bricked walls to replace our wired fences, but some painting work is needed to finish it up.
The left and right pillars for the gate to attach on are done as well, waiting to be painted.
The floor is fully tiled now, although the color of the new tiles is different from the original one.
It’s kinda funny, you know. Hubby and I had been very busy for the past week. I was never at home too. So, till today, we have never met the workers since the first day! 😛
Today I’m at home, but the workers didn’t come to work! Ha! Thought I could see them do some painting, or deliver my new gate at least. But…
Only after the new gate is installed, hubby’s friend will install the automatic gate device for us. Then, we can consider our front yard done. No more remodeling or whatsoever in the near future. Unless we want to go a step further to install some video surveillance system.
But we’re not living in a bungalow or mansion, I think hubby would rather get a German Shepherd dog than to spend on a digital surveillance video. 😛
Hubby is away for a couple of days.
I’m staying at my mom’s.
My poor guppy fish family has nobody to feed them for 2 days.
My three pots of plants have no one to water them. Worst still, they have to endure a dusty environment as a result of the construction going on in my front yard.
When I go home tomorrow night, there will be no gate to open as it would have been removed by now.
And we will continue to stay in a gate-less house for another week or so. That’s kind of weird…
Went to the Digital Mall at Section 14 last week because hubby needed to get a battery for his HP iPAQ PDA phone (used to be mine, hehe), a phone charger, and a laser pointer to be used during a presentation. Wanted to go earlier but was postponed due to the collapse of the ex-Jaya Supermarket building.
Thanks to the trip, I now found the next dream gadget to get my hands on – ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. 😛
Although I have been banking on the idea of getting a new laptop, mini laptops or netbooks never came across my mind until I saw it in one of the shops in Digital Mall. I was first looking at a pink Sony Vaio, which cost around RM3,300. Knowing that is not a price that I can afford, still I pretended to be interested and asked the sales personnel some questions, haha!
Then as I walked around the shop, eventually several small laptops got my attention. There were a couple of models from ASUS Eee PC range, but ASUS Eee PC 1000HE was the one that I am interested in the most, mainly due to its 9.5 hours battery life. Hence the tagline “One Day Computing”. Although it is a mini laptop, it has a large hard disk storage of 160 GB, plus a 10 GB online storage. That’s so much more space compared to this laptop I’m using! Light weight, nice keyboard, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions, this netbook is perfect for a lady who always suffer from shoulder ache carrying a heavy laptop. 😉 There is no CD driver though.
ASUS Eee PC 1000HE 10-Inch Netbook (1.66 GHz Intel Atom N280 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, 10 GB Eee Storage, Bluetooth, XP Home, 9.5 Hour Battery Life) Black
I don’t know if this is the best netbook to get, coz there are other mini laptops from HP and Acer as well. Guess I just have to check out netbook reviews on the internet. Then, I will see where on earth to add RM1599 into my pocket… 😛
